A DRUM SEEDER FOR SMALL AND MARGINAL RICE GROWERS

  This is the time of labour crises  for most of the  rice growers in India.As most of the farmers of India are small and marginal farmers,so they face problem at credit.This DRUM SEEDER technology reduces cost of cultivation drastically with flying returns.

WHAT IT IS..........!
     It is a machine with two wheels and in  between it have four drums which are spaced at 20cm apart.The drum is having 8mm diameter holes from which seeds fall down.It also have an handle which is used  to pull.

COST........???     

•  5000/-  but on subsidy it is available at 2500/-(50% subsidy)

DRUM SEEDER OR DIRECT RICE SEEDER

HOW TO USE IT........! 

Fill the drums with 24hrs pre-soaked paddy seeds and incubate it for 12hrs to increase its size.After preparing the land make sure the presence of thin layer of water Now you just need to pull that filled seeder on prepared land.

PROS..........!!!

1. Seed rate required is 12kg per acre rather than 30kg per acre in conventional method.
2. Labour required is just 2 members rather than 10 -12 members per acre.
3. No fuel is required to run it.
4. Yield obtained is 20% more than the normal grown rice.
5. All parameters i.e varieties,intercultural operations,harvesting etc are same as conventional method.

      It is a technology which gives high yields at low cost of cultivation but the use of this technology is not yet wide spread due to lack of awareness ,so I request the readers of my blog to just spread this technology to the farmers u know......☺
